Intermediate League

Round three took us to Emyvale on Sunday last, with no points on the board and injuries a plenty. This was always going to be a stiff task. The opening period was nip and tuck and some great scores exchanged in a fast moving, hard hitting affair. However, our deficit at half time of four points would not be caught as the home team scored a couple of goals in quick succession in the second period. Although we never gave up the fight, we were pushing against a very strong tide. Final result gave Emyvale victory by a flattering thirteen points in the end. A quick turnaround now as we face Clones at home on Saturday.

Senior Ladies Reserve League

Our Ladies entertained Killeevan on Saturday evening last. Two well matched teams served up some exciting and at times, heart stopping moments during the opening half. The Seans probably didn’t captialise on their scoring opportunities which would prove costly. The second period was marked with a long stoppage for an injury to Kelsey Maguire. Thankfully she was able to walk off but nursing some bruised ribs. After this we lost our way somewhat and the opposition made their advance with a number of scores. Victory was to the visitors and we are back to the drawing board.

U18’s

Óglaigh Naomh Buach came to visit on Tuesday night and departed with two points while giving us a lesson in very accurate and accomplished scoring. Although we were competitive for most of the encounter, we never got to grips with their ferocious running game. As usual goals win games and they had them in an abundance on the night. Not our finest hour but certainly a good indicator of the work we need to do. Our final game is away to Cremartin on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

U15’s

U15’s had a busy week with games in Eire Og and Ballybay. The game in Smithboro was an up hill struggle after an early red card. The home team was very strong and punished our lacklustre performance with a strong win. Tuesday would be a new game and new team in Ballbay and hopes were high. A massive improvement from the previous game had us all over the opposition and taking a comprehensive lead to the second half. However, Ballybay was quick to start their miraculous comeback and as usual , goals were the key. They capitalised on their scoring chances and somehow took victory from the jaws of defeat , leaving us somewhat shocked and stunned. Hard luck to the lads given their efforts but they must now head to Killeevan on Wednesday night and regroup again.

U11’s

Well done to the 11’s with another terrific display against Oram at home last Saturday. The U11 Development League is proving to be a great success.
