Reserves: Our Reserve team had a very close match away to Clones last Saturday, going down by the narrowest of margins. None the less a decent performance and lads are getting good game time. Next scheduled league fixture is 10th May away to Drumhowan, with the Reserve Championship due to start in the coming weeks.
U18 Div. 1 League: A good start to the campaign with a narrow 1 point win over neighbours Truagh however last Tuesday’s game v Clones was called off due to the weather. The next league fixture is scheduled for the 25th at home to Scotstown.

U11’s: training is every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 8pm in Tully. They had their first spring league game last week v Aghabog. The lads were down at half time, but they notched it up a gear or two in the second half and won in the end. Well done lads.
U7’s and U9’s: management will text everyone about training.
Eamon Mc Elroy and Benny Connolly Memorial Tournament: On Easter Monday we held our annual U15 tournament in memory of Eamon Mc Elroy and Benny Connolly. With 8 teams in total on a sometimes glorious day, and throw in the odd shower for good measure, but all it provided some great competition and exciting football in a 13 a side, 10 min per half blitz format. Middletown, Monaghan Harps, Scotstown, Truagh , Tyholland, Aughnamullen, Aghabog and of course Emyvale provided the competition. Emyvale played a lot of good football throughout the day but unfortunately were pipped in the Shield semi-final by Scotstown. The Shield was won by Scotstown , defeating Monaghan Harps by a single goal in a very close game. The cup final saw Truagh square up to Aughnamullen. Both teams played end to end super football. It was a low scoring game, but Truagh won the Cup 3 points to 2 points and lifted the Eamon Mc Elroy Cup. Well done Truagh . Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make the tournament such a success and thank you to all teams who came and provided such great entertainment for everyone. Finally, a big thank you to the family members of Eamon Mc Elroy and Benny Connolly for making the presentations to the teams.
Intercounty news: Well done to Mathew, Andrew and Johnnie and the Monaghan panel who won their first Championship round v Down last week. The 3 club lads all started the game and played key roles– which was great to see. Next round is this Saturday V Fermanagh in Brewster Park at 3pm. Again, we wish the 3 lads and the Monaghan panel all the best this Saturday. Last night (Wednesday) Michael Hamill along with his teammates in the Monaghan U20’s took on Down in Páirc Esler in the Ulster Championship Semifinal. No result at time of print. On Sunday our county Senior panel will start their Ulster Championship campaign against old foes Tyrone. We wish Karl Gallagher and the Monaghan team and management the best of luck.
