Monaghan Inter County Teams: Our County Minors were out again on Saturday against Down putting in a gritty performance to come out with a draw. The final score was Down 1-06 Monaghan 2-03. Both club lads Mathew Finn and Andrew Stewart came on at half time. Next game is this Saturday v Antrim in Dunsilly at 12 noon. It is also great to see fellow club member and county minor Johnnie Wright on the way back from injury. On Wednesday evening (last night) the Monaghan U20 Panel, with Michael Hamill a key team member, took on neighbours Armagh in Round 1 of the Ulster Football Championship in Castleblaney at 7:30pm. No result at press time but we hope good luck was with Michael and the U20 team and management and they got the result they desired. On Sunday our Senior County Panel left themselves with an uphill battle to retain the second longest term Division 1 for another season, getting well beat by Tyrone. This was a disappointing performance with ill-discipline and a lack of scoring options being a major instigator in the Monaghan downfall. On the brightside Karl Gallagher once again put in another hard shift and is cementing his place every week. However not all is lost, if Monaghan can muster a win against high flying Mayo on Sunday in Castlebar, and Tyrone topple Armagh, then Monaghan would pull off the greatest of Houdini acts to survive another year in Div. 1. We wish Karl and the Monaghan panel the very best of luck on Sunday.
Sacrament of Confirmation: we would like to wish the 6th class pupils in the schools around the parish well as they make the Sacrament of Confirmation in St Macartans Cathedral this Sunday. We hope you have a wonderful and memorable day with your families and frien
