Pitch Maintenance
The annual renovation programme for all our pitches is now in full swing. Carried out by Prunty Pitches this involves sanding and verti-draining with re-sodding of goalmouths yet to take place. This is an expensive but necessary process to ensure that all remain in top condition throughout the year. Please note as a result all pitches will be out of bounds for the next couple of weeks to allow them to recover and be ready for the coming season. With a welcome stretch in the evenings many teams are now getting out again but all are asked to stay off the grass for the present.
Crocus Appreciation
An appreciation evening from Crocus Monaghan to all from the Club who participated in the Movember Challenge took place in our clubhouse on Sunday last. The challenge, which was coordinated by Denise Brennan, raised significant funding for Crocus. A big thank you to all who volunteered for this enjoyable challenge for such a worthy cause which touches the lives of so many. Members can start planning now for the next Movember challenge.
County Team
Not much luck in Blayney on Saturday night in a game that could have been won. Now it’s the long trek to Kerry for a 1.30pm throw-in at Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney on Sunday. Again tickets must be purchased in advance but with a capacity of 30,000 that shouldn’t be a problem. Best wishes to Vinny and his players.
