Emyvale G.A.A Weekly Club Notes 05.01.2023

By Majella Boyd Sun 15th Jan

It is with heartfelt sadness that we open our first club notes of the new year remembering our dear friend and Club Treasurer Marion Donnelly who passed away recently.

Marion was the backbone of our Club and community for decades and entrenched in everything G.A.A, men’s and ladies, at club, county, provincial and national levels. This love and dedication to the GAA at every level was clear in abundance during Marion’s funeral ceremony when GAA people from near and far, Club Members, County Board Members, County Players, Ulster GAA delegation and the GAA President all congregated to pay their respects to a truly one of a kind and remarkable lady.

The sad passing of Marion has left a void in our Club and community that can never be replaced.

Emyvale G.A.A would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Marion’s son Colin, her daughter Aoife, sister Nuala and brother Terrance and to the extended family and friends.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Emylott: Next draw will take place Monday 9th Jan.

Well Done to our own Michael Hamill on being selected as Captain for the Ulster University Freshers Team for the upcoming season. A magnificent achievement and one that’s well deserved. Good luck with the season Michael.

Good luck to Emyvale Handballers Dylan McKenna (U17) and Callum Gallagher (U21) who have both qualified for their respective County Finals. Dylan will play this Sunday 8th in st. Mellans while Callum’s fixture TBC.

The best of luck guys from Emyvale GAA.

We also would like to wish the Sem Rannafast team all the best in the Ulster final this Sunday the 8th at 2pm in athletic grounds Armagh against St Paul’s Bessbrook. It’s great to see so many lads from Emyvale GAA club on the panel, good luck to

Eoghan Mc Ginn, Kaydan Keenan, Jack Mc Connon, Aidan Treanor, Andrew Stewart and Shay Cawley and also to everyone connected to the team, let’s bring that cup home!

2023: We wish all our members and their families and very Happy and Peaceful New Year.
