Monaghan GAA Football & Hurling Go Games at U7, U9 & U11 age grades are up and running for 2022. The Go Games are a great way to introduce children to team play and sportsmanship in a non-competitive environment.

Our games programme for 2022 kicked off on Saturday, 9th April with the U11 Football Spring League. This league sees clubs playing 6 rounds of games before the Spring League Finals Day which will be hosted at the Entkera Monaghan GAA Centre of Excellence in Cloghan on Saturday, 2nd July. The main purpose of this league is Skill Development and Participation. Each of the 6 rounds will have a different skill focus with a point being awarded for every time that skill is executed correctly. Players must also wear a white sock on their non-dominant foot with the middle 10 mins period of the game being for non-dominant side only. Clubs are also encouraged to play multiple teams if possible to ensure that all players are getting an opportunity to play. After the conclusion of the Spring League, the U11 Liam Stirrat Development League will commence which see clubs play a further 6 rounds of fixtures.

Our U9 Football Go Games programme started on Saturday, 30th April with the U7 Football programme following a week later on 7th May. The U7s & U9s will run on alternate Saturdays with 11 Blitz days for U7s and 13 Blitz days for U9s right up until 15th October. Our Go Games programme sees 8 blitzes hosted around the county on each date with clubs taking it in turns to host a blitz, these blitzes see clubs play at least three games under Go Games Rules. The main focus of our Go Games is on Developemnt, Participation and ensuring that everyone has FUN.

Our Hurling games programme for 2022 is also underway with our U7 & U9 Hurling Go Games kicking off on Sunday, 8th May and the U11 Hurling Development League commencing on Sunday, 15th June. The U7 & U9 programme will see 9 blitzes take place up until 24th August with each club getting to host a blitz and two all county blitzes taking place in Cloghan. The U11 Hurling Development League will have a different skill focus each week and will see clubs play 9 games right up until 4th September.
