Monaghan Harps Lotto: We are delighted to have resumed our club lotto, using the ClubZap platform. The numbers for last Sunday’s draw were 3, 16, 20 and 21. Jackpot not won. The four €40 lucky-dip prize winners were Paddy Hughes c/o John Hahessy; €40 Martin McNally c/o Sheila Treanor; €40 Mary McRory c/o Paddy Donnelly; €40 Tommy Reilly c/o John Hahessy. The sellers’ prize of €20 was won by Barry Sullivan. Jackpot for Sunday, August 16 is €6,000. The club is asking members willing and financially able to contribute through our lotto towards club maintenance and running expenses. This can be done by two options: set up a standing order to our club lotto via quarterly or annual payments or using our new club app by downloading ‘ClubZap’ on your phone, registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member and buying club lotto in bulk or on a weekly basis. Anyone interested can contact either Rose Donnelly (086 0825782); Maria McKenna (086 1057725) or Adrian Dalton (087 7859582). Thanks to everyone for their support. Please note that the cut-off point for ClubZap each week is 6pm on Sunday, while physical tickets should be with the lotto committee by 9pm.
Seniors: We fell to a disappointing defeat at home to Tyholland in the McElvaney Recycling Intermediate Football Championship last Saturday. Tyholland made much the brighter start and had four points on the board before Aodhán Óg McAnespie got us off the mark. Our only other scores of the first half were from frees by Neil McAdam and Dónal Hahessy, with a late goal by Tyholland giving them a 1-6 to 0-3 lead and the first of two red cards adding to our challenge. Dean Fanning, Neil, Dónal and Gary White were on target during the second half, but we rarely looked like bridging the gap and after we were reduced to 13 men, a late flurry of scores from Tyholland saw them pull away further for a final score of 4-14 to 0-12. We are away to Emyvale this Sunday for a 5pm throw-in. Good luck to Paddy, Ryan, Steven and the panel.
Team and scorers: Conor Callan; Thomas Croarkin, Conn O’Hanlon, Jamie Shields; Nicholas Scott, Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Kevin Loughran; Aodhán Óg McAnespie (Capt., 0-1), Neil McAdam (0-2, 1f); Dean Doherty, Dean Fanning (0-4f), Shane McMahon; Dónal Hahessy (0-4f), Shane Smyth, Conor McCrystal.

IFC tickets: Our final game in the IFC group series sees us travel to Emyvale this Sunday for a 5pm throw-in. Like previous weekends, each club will be issued with 55 supporter tickets. Applications for these tickets will be open to all paid-up members of Cláirsigh Mhuineacháin CLG. Non-members who apply will be considered if the allocation has not been used by members. If we have more than 55 requests, we will hold a draw on Thursday evening and those who receive a ticket will be contacted with arrangements to collect their ticket. If you do not collect your ticket it will become available to the next person on the standby list. Please note that juvenile members will also need a ticket to gain entry to the game and will be included in the 55 allocation. ALL tickets are priced at €10 and tickets must be paid for on collection. If you wish to apply for a ticket please text Rose on 086 0825782 before 2pm on Thursday giving the names of the members you are applying for. Please bring this information to the attention of any club members who may not follow our social-media pages. Go raibh maith agaibh.
Minors: Our U-17s were at home to Carrickmacross in the Maguire International Division One Championship last Tuesday. We were on top for most of the first half in difficult conditions, although we only led narrowly at half-time and Carrick rallied after the restart. We needed scores from Shay Cooney, Tiarnán O’Rourke, Liam Conway and Jake Power and some strong defensive work to get over the line by the narrowest of margins: 1-10 to 1-9. We are away to Clones this evening (Tuesday) at 7.15pm, while next week’s game is at home to Donaghmoyne.
Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; Jordan Crampton, Nathan Lavery, James Curley; Mark McManus, Kevin Moran, Jake McConnon; Tiarnán O’Rourke (Capt., 0-1), Liam Conway (0-1); Michael McMorrow, Shea Swift, Gary Devlin; Luke McManus, Shay Cooney (1-7, 0-6f), Jake Power (0-1).

U-13: Our U-13 teams hosted Scotstown for a double-header last Saturday. Our Division One side claimed a good result to continue their winning start to the championship, with Mark Lynch, Eoin Sheridan, Shea Corrigan and Daniel Alexis among our scorers.
Team: Alex Flynn; Dáire McKenna, Rhys McCaffrey; Shay Lambe, Josh Cassidy, John Sherry; Mark Lynch, Eoin Sheridan; Shane McGarry, Daniel Alexis, Orrin Doherty; Shea Corrigan, Joe Gunn.
The Division Five game saw the Harps boys give an improved performance, keeping pace with Scotstown for much of the game until the visitors pulled away during the latter stages.

Juveniles: Our Saturday-morning coaching for our youngest juveniles has resumed in recent weeks with good numbers taking part. We would like to thank all parents for their co-operation with the return-to-play protocol.
Pitches: Thanks to all the club members who have volunteered their time to keep our pitches in such good condition. We ask everyone to respect these efforts and to follow the guidelines in place. With competitive fixtures underway, we have altered the training schedules and have communicated changes to all coaches.
GAA return: We are grateful to our ever-willing volunteers and our Covid supervisors for their efforts throughout the return to play. Dressing rooms will remain closed until further notice, while there will also be restrictions in place regarding crowds at games in the coming weeks. We would like to encourage our players, supporters and everyone involved to continue to follow the relevant advice and guidance. Please see our social media for guidelines around attending games.
Club app: As well as offering an option to support our lotto, our new club app also has a function to pay your annual membership, make financial donations to the club, as well as a communication suite for all that goes on at the club. You can get involved by downloading ‘ClubZap’ on your phone and registering as a Monaghan Harps GAA Club member.

Registration can be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or using ClubZap. Fees are as follows: U-11s €20; juveniles/seniors €30; family membership €60.

U-13s: The Under-13s take on Truagh on Sunday. Throw-in is at 11.30 at Gavan Duffy Park.

Intermediate: Hard luck to our seniors who were defeated by Inniskeen last Sunday in the second round of the championship. Though there were many positives to take from the game as some of younger players adapted well to senior football. Next up is an away game to Truagh on Friday night.
U-14s: Our U-14s have a home game v Castleblayney next Monday at 7pm in round three of the Division One Championship.
U-10s and U-8s: Thanks to Emyvale for hosting our U8s and U10s last Saturday morning. A great morning’s football was had by all.
