2019 Monaghan GAA All-Stars

The Monaghan GAA All-Star Awards was initiated to highlight and acknowledge the club players who excelled and demonstrated outstanding efforts and commitment on the field of play and it is only fitting that we value and appreciate the club player.

The All-Star awards are directed towards players who were consistent performers for their clubs during the 2019 championship campaign.  The award signifies achievement in `two ways. Firstly, it acknowledges the players contribution towards the overall team efforts and secondly it recognises their exceptional individual performances over the course of the season.

This year’s Monaghan GAA ‘All-Star Awards’ mark’s the third year, but sadly, due to the current Covid-19 pamdenic and the dynamic nature of working around social distancing requirements and Public Health Guidelines it was not feasible or workable to hold a presentation night for the All-Star Awards.

However, while we may not be able to hold a public function, we feel it is important to highlight the exceptional contribution that our club players make to their clubs and their community.

Speaking to our Cathaoirleach, Michael McMahon, he commented “I want to extend my congratulations to the All-Star award winners, I think it’s a lovely honour for any player to have their efforts and performances recognised. It is a wonderful achievement and a nice accolade to receive and I congratulate them on their accomplishment. Being regarded as one of the best fifteen footballers or hurlers at your respective grade is a lovely honour and I think it will be treasured by the player, their family and their club”.

He continued,“There were many standout performances during the championship campaign and I want to thank the adjudication panel of John P Graham, Colm Shalvey and Tony Graham for their assistance and support for selecting this year’s All-Star teams”.

Monaghan GAA have and will always continue to mark the immense contribution that all our players make and these All-Stars Awards is a celebration, a small token of our respect for their hard work, their commitment and the countless scarifies they made on a weekly basis to turn-up and perform for their respective clubs. Well done to all
