Even during these unprecedented times, the McAree Engineering Monaghan GAA Golf Classic lived up to expectation once again in providing a memorable weekend of action-packed golfing with the best players using irons from https://www.pineclubgolf.com/best-mid-handicap-irons/A mixed bag of weather did not dampen the infectious atmosphere which surrounded Rossmore Golf Club on Friday 24th and Saturday the 25th of July 2020. 

We were privileged and extremely grateful to have our main sponsors involved again McAree Engineering in Ballinode. Thank you to Brendan McAree, Peter Richardson and the staff of McAree Engineering for their kind generosity and assistance in running this great event. 

We would like to thank all the teams who entered and all our sponsors of the tees and greens. To Rossmore Golf Club,  its members and staff in providing an outstanding service.  Special thanks to our stewards, the members of Monaghan County Board for their help over the weekend, to Raymond Treanor (Fundraising Chairperson) and the organising committee who worked tirelessly before and during the event.  Also a massive thank you to Brendan Casey and Eugene McGinnity for their expertise and professionalism ensuring this event ran like clockwork and to our photographers Fintan McTiernan and Peadar McMahon.

The 2020 Winners were

1st place winners  with a score of 111  –  The Ballinode Seafoods Team  Fergal Duffy; Paul Power. Ruairi McDonald & Paul Harvey

2nd place winners with a score of 107 – The Currin GAA  Team  Jack McCarron; Adrian Alford; Ethan Audley & Fergal Connolly

3rd place winners with a score of 104 The Terry’s Bar Team   – Terry Gilsenan; Dan Herlihy; Gerard Gilsenan and Paul Whelan

4th Place winners with a score of 101 The GTec Team –  Gareth Mone, John Mone, Anthony Keenan and Vincent O Keefe

Ladies Team winners – Bernie McCauge; Kenita Crawford; Delia Hunt & Finola Hunt

The organising committee were delighted to hold additional ‘Hit the Green’ fundraiser for much needed funds for Drumhill House Alzheimer’s Centre Monaghan. Thanks to all who contributed.
