Local GAA clubs are doing great work with older people who are unable to go out and about at the moment.  Through this your members may come across some people who would benefit from MID’s new “Good Morning Monaghan” service. This service involves volunteers phoning older/vulnerable people for a chat to make sure they have all they need and just to ease to lonliness and boredom.

At present we have plenty of volunteers for it but we need help to let people who might use the service know about it. I am attaching a flyer and we have the information and sign up form on our website at https://volunteermonaghan.ie/befriending-monaghan/

MID Services for Older People Befriending Monaghan is a service for older people in Co. Monaghan who are living with social isolation or loneliness. We would really appreciate Monaghan GAA would assist us in spreading the word about the service. Even for older people who have someone dropping off shopping and checking they are ok it could break up the day to have a phone call from “Good Morning Monaghan”.
