Monaghan Harps notes

Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 11, 13, 22 and 26. Jackpot of €5,000 not won. Jackpot for Sunday, January 12 is €5,100. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which has now played a critical role in our club’s funding for 25 years.

 

Meetings: The club’s first monthly meetings of 2020 take place in the clubhouse this week: juvenile this evening (Wednesday) at 7pm and senior on Thursday at 8pm.

 

Charity match: Our annual charity match took place at Gavan Duffy Park on Saturday, December 28. Sponsorship cards are available in the clubhouse and from Mary White and Owen Connell. All support appreciated.

 

Scór: Well done to Eoin Mac Cléire (recitation) and Dearbhla Ní Mhearáin (solo singing), who represented Monaghan Harps and the county in last Saturday’s Ulster Scór na nÓg finals in Threemilehouse. Our Scór representatives have done the club proud.

 

Registration: Registration fees for 2020 can now be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse. Please note that all juvenile and adult players must be paid-up members. Fees are as follows: U-11s €20; juveniles/seniors €30; family membership €60.

 

Ireland Lights Up: Monaghan Harps are proud to be taking part in the Operation Transformation ‘Ireland Lights Up’ project for 2020, starting this Thursday evening at 7pm. This easy 3.5km route is suitable for all fitness levels and all ages. High-vis jackets will be provided, but we advise participants to bring a torch. Let’s make 2020 bigger and better!

 

Club Draw: The GAA’s National Club Draw is back for 2020, offering great prizes. All support appreciated.

 

Upcoming events: Our annual Juvenile Presentation is scheduled for Friday week, January 17.

 

Schools: Best wishes to all our club players representing their teams in schools’ and colleges’ competitions.

 

O’Neills: A range of Harps gear can now be bought online from O’Neills website. See the club’s social-media pages for the link.

 

Clubhouse: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Please contact Paudge Connolly on 085 8589135 or Rose Donnelly on 086 0825782 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.
