Monaghan GAA will honour another long-serving senior footballer at our Annual Dinner Dance in January 2020. Latton GAA’s Owen Duffy has also announced his retirement from the inter-county scene, along with Vinnie Corey, Dessie Mone and Gavin Doogan.
A gifted forward and a diligent player, Owen has been an integral part of the Monaghan senior football panel since 2006, when he made his debut against Wicklow. Since then we collected two Ulster titles in 2013 and 2015 and National Football League titles in Division Two (2014) and Division Three (2013). However, Owen has decided to hang up the county boots after 116 appearances in the county jersey.
Like our county’s roll of honour over this time, Owen’s work-rate, passion and dedication to the Monaghan jersey speaks for itself and he deserves every accolade for his long-standing service and commitment to our jersey. We in Monaghan GAA wish to sincerely thank Owen for his immense service over the years and wish him the very best of luck in the future.
