Best wishes to Magheracloone’s Gavin Doogan, who has also announced his inter county retirement from the Monaghan GAA senior football panel.
After a phenomenal display in Saturday night’s Ulster Final to ensure his club Magheracloone collected the Packie McCully Cup and were crowned AIB Ulster Club Intermediate champions for 2019, Gavin has decided to call time on his years in the county jersey after 58 senior appearances.
The Magheracloone warrior has been an industrious and persistent worker in the Monaghan set-up for nearly a decade; taking a break to travel in 2012 for a year, before coming back to play an influential part in Monaghan’s unforgettable Ulster Championship win in 2013 that ended 25 years without any provincial silverware.
Gavin served his county with distinction and pride and has been an outstanding role model. Monaghan GAA would like to sincerely thank Gavin for his colossal service to the county and wish him all the best in the future.
