Sympathy: It is with deep sadness that we heard last week of the death of Fanchea Morahan, wife of Seán and mother of senior player Éimhín. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Morahan, Flynn and Swift families. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Sports Capital Grant: We are delighted to have been allocated a Sports Capital Grant of €80,906 for an all-weather training pitch. Thanks to everyone involved in our successful application.

Thanks: To Fleming’s SuperValu for their recent ‘Support Your Club’ promotion and to everyone who supported us in earning equipment for our juveniles!

Congratulations: To Daragh Croarkin and the 2019 Monaghan team who received their Ulster MFC medals last Saturday!

Coaching: There are several upcoming Coach Education courses being run by Monaghan GAA, including a Foundation Course on November 22 & 23 and Level 1 on November 29 & 30. Please contact Coaching Officer Martin Sheridan if you wish to attend.

safeTALK course: Monaghan GAA Healthy Club Committee are running a safeTALK course to be delivered in Truagh GAA Complex on Wednesday, November 27 from 6.45-10.15pm. Please contact our Healthy Club Officer Úna Forde in advance if you wish to attend.

Elaine Tate: Elaine Tate is a primary-school teacher from Rockcorry. Married to Anthony, with three children – Ava (13), Patrick (11) and Fionn (8) – Elaine was diagnosed in 2014 with Stage 4 Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma (kidney cancer). Surgery and ongoing chemotherapy were required to keep the cancer stable. Unfortunately, in July 2019, Elaine took a rare reaction to one of the chemo medications leading to paralysis from the waist down. She is now confined to a wheelchair. Monaghan will play Cavan in Clones on December 1, with any monies raised going toward much-needed adaptations to Elaine’s home to give her more independence on her road to recovery. Tickets can be purchased from Dónal Sherry (086 2336159) and the club would like to encourage members to support this worthy cause.

Schools: Good luck to all club players currently competing in schools’ competitions. Hard luck to Seán Callan, Jack Lynch, John McCrystal and the St. Macartan’s College team who lost out in last week’s Corn na nÓg semi-final.

Clubhouse: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Please contact Paudge Connolly on 085 8589135 or Rose Donnelly on 086 0825782 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.
