Seniors: We earned a semi-final place in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League with a 3-13 to 0-9 win at home to Killanny last Sunday. A Liam Hahessy goal and points from Liam, Stephen Driver, Neil McAdam, Shane Smyth and Éimhín Morahan had us 1-7 to 0-6 up at half-time. Nicholas Scott and Shane McMahon joined our list of eight scorers, before goals by Conor McCrystal and Liam ensured an important win that secured a top-four finish.

Our IFL semi-final away to Magheracloone is due to be played on Saturday week, October 19. Venue and fixture details to be confirmed.

 

Fun Day: Our annual Family Fun Day to round off the juvenile year is set to take place at Gavan Duffy Park this Saturday, October 12. This will include the usual fun and games for all ages and the juveniles’ sponsored walk. Sponsorship cards are available now. All support would be greatly appreciated on the day.

 

Clubhouse: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Please contact Paudge Connolly on 085 8589135 or Rose Donnelly on 086 0825782 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.

 

Hurling:

Juvenile Training: Training continues Sunday at 12 noon for U-13s and U-15s. Juvenile training will continue every Sunday until November; all new members welcome to come along and show their talent ahead of next season!

Fundraiser: Our Last Man Standing competition commenced with last weekend’s English Premier League fixtures. The first round of fixtures caused pandemonium with several surprise results including losses for Man City and Spurs. We appreciate the support for this fundraiser and wish all of our entrants the best of luck for the next round of fixtures which are on the weekend of October 19.
