Ranganna Comhrá Gaeilge / Irish Conversation Classes

Ranganna Comhrá Gaeilge commencing shortly all over the county

Monaghan GAA’s Culture, Scór and Irish language committee together with Muineachán le Gaeilge will be organising Irish conversation classes at various locations all over county Monaghan commencing at the end of September. Classes will take place in Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Monaghan town, Truagh and Clones and will run for 10 weeks.

These classes promise to be somewhat unique from the traditional methods used to teach Gaeilge in schools with the entire emphasis of the class being placed on speaking Irish. All of our teachers have a wealth of experience teaching adult language learners and they will use various games and spoken exercises such as ‘Family Fortunes as Gaeilge’, ‘Articulate as Gaeilge’ and ‘Monopoly as Gaeilge’ to both challenge and engage the learners into using as much Irish as they can for the hour long class.

In addition to the classes, learners will be able to access a series of online exercises and learning material put together by Nollaig Mac Giolla Thuile from Muineachán le Gaeilge which will be easily accessible and useful as a learning tool.

Above all else, classes like these are a fantastic way to bring a community together and to reinforce the social aspect of our GAA clubs. Given the nature of these conversational classes, learners are encouraged to communicate with each other as Gaeilge as much as they can during the class through various exercises, games and group-work.

The cost of the 10-week course is €30 per person and booking is essential. Please contact Muineachán le Gaeilge to register via email: nollaig@mlg.ie or via phone: 087 7095252. The following are details of all the classes commencing on the week beginning Monday 30th September 2019:
