Manor Farm Under 15 Division 4 Championship Final.
Aghabog 6-14
Monaghan Harps 2-11
21/9/2019
A resurgent Aghabog were crowned Under 15 Division 4 champions on a glorious Saturday afternoon in sunny Blackhill. Despite trailing by 3 points by the end of the first quarter to the county town side the boys from Aghabog sporting red and black jerseys due to the colour clash with their opponents began to exert increasing dominance and spearheaded by centre back Cian Mc Mahon and team captain Cormac O’Hanlon were full value for their 3 point interval lead. The Harps did have their moments in the opening period racing into a 4 point lead with Eoin O’ Hanlon and Cian Bradley impressing and would’ve been relatively pleased to be only one score in arrears at half-time.
However, Aghabog struck a major blow to the Harps and their title aspirations with two quick goals on the resumption. To their credit, Monaghan Harps battled bravely to stay in the contest but Aghabog always looked to be in control and ran out convincing winners in the end. Indeed, there were joyful scenes at the full-time whistle as Aghabog safely added an Under 15 trophy to the club’s Under 13 success during the summer. Fittingly, the Aghabog players were able to wear their regular club colours for the presentation and team photo.
