Summer Camp: The sixth year of our in-house Harps Summer Camp brought around 100 boys and girls to Gavan Duffy Park throughout last week. We enjoyed a busy week of football, hurling, handball and music at Gavan Duffy Park. Each participant received Harps goodie bags on Friday, while there was also a welcome return of the ice-cream van! We were delighted to be joined by our own Daragh Croarkin and Neil McAdam on the Friday, along with the Ulster MFC cup, which was in great demand for photos with the kids. Thanks to everyone who had the pitches and club grounds in great condition, to Úna Forde for her work in preparing for the camp and to Conn O’Hanlon and all the young coaches involved for a job well done.

Seniors: We lost to Magheracloone in the McElvaney’s Waste & Recycling Intermediate Football Championship Round 1A in Castleblayney last Friday. Éimhín Morahan, Liam Hahessy, Lochlainn Power and Dean Fanning were on target for our lads during the opening half, but a brace of quick goals just before half-time stretched Magheracloone’s lead to 3-7 to 0-7. Our lads chipped away in the second half, with Éimhín, Liam, Lochlainn Stephen Driver and Shane McMahon kicking points, but Magheracloone stayed well ahead on their way to a 4-12 to 0-14 win. We are due to face Magheracloone again this Saturday in the Monaghan Electrical IFL at Annaghminnon, Co Louth. Please check online to confirm fixture and venue. Our next IFC game is a qualifier against Killanny in Castleblayney on Saturday week (September 7).

Eoghan added to his tally in the second half, while Shay Cooney got a point, before Dylan converted a late penalty to bring us back within two, only for Emyvale to kick the last score to secure a 0-16 to 1-10 win.
