We then hosted Aughnamullen on Sunday, when a slow start saw us fall five points behind early on. Our lads eventually worked their way into the game, with points from Michael Galligan, Éimhín Morahan, Conor McCrystal and Shane Smyth helping us get level at 0-9 to 1-6 by half-time. Shane Smyth got our all-important goal during the second half and with Nicholas Scott, Shane McMahon and Lochlainn Power adding their names to the scoresheet, we earned a win in the first of the final four ‘five-point’ fixtures.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One team lost out at home to Castleblayney last Thursday. Blayney’s goal-scoring touch either side of half-time earned them a commanding lead and despite all six Harps forwards getting on the scoresheet and Jake McConnon getting forward to fire over a couple of points, there was no way back into the game for our lads.

Our Division Four team lost out at home to Clann na nGael on Friday. Their next game is against Seán McDermotts next Thursday.

U-13: Amid a busy schedule for our U-13s, our Division One team started the championship with a good win away to Oram on Saturday. They host Carrickmacross this evening (Thursday) at 7.30. Our Division Five lads followed that up with another free-scoring win at home to Castleblayney on Monday evening. A blitz of early scores from the likes of Rohann McKenna-Malocca, Julian Coyle, Shane McGarry, Luke Swift and John Sherry gave our lads a commanding lead. With Alex Kearns-Flynn, Josh Cassidy, Oisín Brannigan and Joe Gunn driving forward in the second half, the Harps stayed well clear. Next up is a home game against Truagh tomorrow evening (Friday).
