A Round Up Of Last Saturday’s Gerry’s Prepared Veg U13 League Finals – A Super Saturday!

Gerry’s Prepared Veg U13 League Finals took centre stage on Saturday last in what was a super Saturday festival of football. From early Saturday morning as Monaghan GAA circles awoke excitement was palpable in the air as players from the 14 clubs from the  north to the south of the county made last minute checks and  completed  pre-match routines prior to heading to their respective venues. Volunteers from the 4 venues in question Carrickmacross, Drumhowan, Scotstown and Tyholland were out bright and early preparing for the arrival of the finalists and their supporters. By 11am  3 finals in 3 different venues had thrown in and the matches were on!

The finals had everything for the supporters! There were highs and lows, thrills and spills, frees, points and goals galore, white flage and green flage, dramatic comebacks, astonishing skill on display, injury time and indeed  it looked as though there would be Extra Time on a couple of occasions as teams kept battling it out to become 2019 U13 League winners! Congratulations to all the winners and of course commiserations to the losers who were often narrowly defeated!

A Finals Day cannot  happen without many people on board and Monaghan GAA Youth Committee would like to thank the 4 venues Carrickmacross, Drumhowan, Scotstown and Tyholland for hosting the finals. Also thanks to Gerry’s Prepared Veg for their generous sponsorship over the years . Thanks to all match officials, team officials and clubs involved. Our gratitute is also extended to the photographers and PR committee. Also, where would clubs be without their loyal supporters who turned out in such huge numbers all during the day on Saturday , even glorious sunshine was in attendance. #whereweallbelong
