Castleblayney 5-12, Scotstown 0-13.
Four second-half goals did the trick as Castleblayney clinched the McKeown Cup with this comfortable and well deserved victory over Scotstown in Shamrock Park, Cremartin, on Sunday afternoon last.
Scotstown had the better of the exchanges in the opening twenty minutes at the end of which they led by five points, but Castleblayney drew level thanks in part to a goal by Joseph Hughes, with Scotstown then retaking the lead in the final minute of the half to lead by the minimum at the break, 0-9 to 1-5.
A goal from a penalty in the opening minute of the second-half kick started a strong recovery by Castleblayney and they went on to add three further goals with Scotstown registering their final score of the game with thirteen minutes of normal time remaining, while Castleblayney registered an unanswered 1-7 in the final thirteen minutes.
