Ulster Minor Football League Section A
Monaghan 4-15 Down 3-9 30/3/19
Monaghan stayed in touch in the Ulster MFL with a nine-point win over Down in Inniskeen last Saturday. Monaghan were well on their way to victory by half-time, helped by goals from midfielders David Kerley and Conor McKernan. The hosts stretched their lead with another brace of goals near the start of the second half via Diarmaid Marron and the game’s top scorer, Liam McDonald.
Down rallied in the latter stages, with sub Niall Toner and Dermot Donaldson hitting consolation goals, but Monaghan had long since done enough to secure back-to-back wins ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Antrim.
