Easter Camps 2019 Draw to a Close

This week saw Monaghan Coaching & Games run their annual Farney Academy Easter Camps. This is a 3-day camp which catered for boys and girls from 5 – 12 years of age. Three camps took place this year in Ballybay, Clones and Scotstown. This year saw 456 children take part in the camps, with the biggest camp in Ballybay with 228 attending, 148 attending in Scotstown and 80 attending in Clones.

Monaghan Coaching & Games would like to thank each of the host clubs for providing their facilities and for helping promote the camps in their local areas.  The host clubs are always very easy to work with in terms of getting the camps up and running and providing any extra help where needed. We would also like to thank them for providing a facility to store all the gear. This saves our co-ordinators a lot of time each and every day loading and unloading the gear. We would just like to thank everyone from club volunteers to schools for helping us promote the camps over the last number of weeks, without this help the camps would not be able to be as successful as what they are. We would also like to Glendun Print & Embroidery who provided each participant with a hoodie.

We would just like to thank all our coaches and assistant coaches who worked at the camps. It was evident that they all brought something new and different to the camps which the children really liked. The coaches play the most important role in ensuring all the children enjoy the camps and come away each day with a smile on their face.  Thank you to our camp co-ordinators Colin Malone, Ann McKenna and Rory Beggan and who put in tireless work all week and made the camps a very enjoyable experience for all participants.

We would like to thank all the participants and parents for taking part in the camps. A special thanks to all the participants who registered online for the camps as this makes planning and organisation a lot easier for each camp. We look froward to seeing everyone again at the Cul Camps and bookings can be made online on the Cul Camp website.

Over the coming weeks, Monaghan Coaching & Games will begin the promotion of the Kellogg’s Cul Camps so keep an eye out for the application forms. You can already register online for the camps by logging onto kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie
