Ulster Minor Football League Section A
Monaghan 0-16 Armagh 1-9 9/3/19
Monaghan got off the mark in the Ulster MFL thanks to an improved second-half performance against Armagh in Clones last Saturday. The teams were level four times in an evenly-matched first half, but Monaghan outscored their near-neighbours by 0-8 to 0-4 after the restart, with Jason Irwin leading the scoring.
Corner-forwards Mark McKeever and Oisín King hit 1-5 between them for Armagh, but with Karl Gallagher, Irwin, Darragh Dempsey and Liam McDonald playing key roles, Monaghan earned their first win of the Section A campaign.
Monaghan are away to Antrim this Saturday.
