Monaghan Harps notes

Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 4, 6, 14 and 21. Jackpot of €4,200 not won. Residual prizes: €100 Hugh Coyle (Dundalk) c/o Brian O’Sullivan (Hurling Club); €40 Chris O’Connell c/o Paddy Donnelly; €40 Fiona McCleary c/o Ladies Club; €40 Sarah O’Neill c/o Brian O’Sullivan (Hurling Club). Jackpot for Sunday, October 21 is €4,300 and Mary and Fergus Coyle are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which plays a critical role in our club’s funding. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible.

 

Gavan Duffy Park: We hosted the Maguire International MFC Division Two Final Replay between Doohamlet and Seán McDermotts last Saturday, followed by the Eurotech JFL Shield Final between Oram and Scotstown on Sunday. Thanks to all club members who helped, particularly everyone who had the grounds in excellent condition.

 

Fun Day: Please ensure that any outstanding Balloon Race cards are returned to Jimmy Croarkin ASAP.

 

U-17: Our U-17s fell to a narrow defeat in a high-scoring game away to Inniskeen last Sunday. We now await our semi-final, with date and opposition to be confirmed.

 

Schools: Good luck to Gaelscoil Ultain, especially all the Harps members involved, in this Saturday’s Cumann na mBunscol county final.

 

Scór: Scór na bPáistí (for primary-school children) takes place in Clontibret this Saturday at 3pm. Good luck to all the Harps competitors.

 

Sympathy: At last week’s club meeting, a vote of sympathy was passed to the family of Theresa McCaughey. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

 

AGMs: The club’s Annual General Meetings have been scheduled as follows: Thursday, November 15 (Juvenile) and Thursday, November 22 (Senior).

 

Coaching: Upcoming coaching courses being run by Monaghan GAA include Foundation and Level 1 at the end of November. Coaches are asked to please contact Noreen McMorrow if interested.

 

Clubhouse: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Contact Jimmy Croarkin on 087 1249635 or Pádraig Callan on 087 2543511 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.
