McElvaney’s Waste & Recycling Intermediate Football Championship Semi-Final
Doohamlet 3-12 Donaghmoyne 2-9 (AET) 6/10/18
Doohamlet qualified for their fourth IFC Final of the decade when they saw off Donaghmoyne after extra-time in Castleblayney last Saturday. Goals by Damien Ward and Barry McBennett had Doohamlet six points up early in the second half, but Aaron Courtney and Pádraig Donaghy led a spirited comeback from Donaghmoyne, who led by a point deep into added time until Barry McGinn converted a free to force extra-time. Doohamlet eventually pushed on to seal victory, with Oisín O’Neill tucking home their all-important third goal.
