Hurling Super Games Centre Blitz

On Friday the 19th of October ,Monaghan Coaching and Games held a  successful Super Games Hurling blitz in the Entekra Monaghan Gaa Centre Of Excellence Cloghan.

St Macartans Monaghan, Patrician High School Carrickmacross , Beech Hill College Monaghan , Inver College Carrickmacross and Castleblaney College took part in the blitz.

The Super Games Centre programme has been rolled out in  3 of the 5 Schools (Beech Hill, Patrician High School, St Macartans) since the start of September.  The players took part in conditioned games during lunch time, with the focus on these players getting the chance to play the game. The programme caters for all players of different abilities, some of these players may not even be involved with a club.  It is hoped as a result  of this programme that these players will join up and play with their local club.

The day itself in Cloghan was very much enjoyed by all involved. The blitz was 9 a side giving the players plenty of opportunity to play and have time on the ball. The day was a great success and we look forward to the next blitz which is planned for the 23rd of November.

A number of schools from outside the county have been invited to the next blitz which will provide new opposition.

A massive thank you goes to the schools that took part in the programme and attended the blitz and to the referees on the day.
