Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship Round 2A
Scotstown 0-10 Ballybay 0-9 9/9/18
Scotstown progressed to the SFC semi-finals with a narrow win over Ballybay in Clontibret last Sunday. Dessie Ward and Paul Finlay were among the scorers as Ballybay built up a 0-6 to 0-2 lead, but points from Kieran Hughes and Rory Beggan (who had earlier saved a Christopher McGuinness penalty) kept Scotstown in touch. Ballybay scored just two points in the last 27 minutes and although a Thomas Kerr free brought them back on level terms entering added time, a Conor McCarthy free won it for Scotstown. Ballybay have a second chance to make the last four when they face Truagh this Saturday.
