Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Round 3B
Clones 1-15 Éire Óg 3-8 7/9/18
Clones qualified for their third consecutive JFC semi-final when they edged through this tense local derby against Éire Óg in Emyvale last Friday night. Goals at the start of the second quarter by Ronan Cassidy and Paul Monaghan put Éire Óg in the driving seat, but their four-point lead was turned on its head over the next half-hour. An Eoin McQuaid goal looked to give Clones some breathing space, but Éire Óg rallied again, only to be knocked out by a late Adrian Alford point. Clones go up against Cremartin in Scotstown this Sunday.
