Tyholland made it back-to-back wins in the IFC when they came through an entertaining clash with Blackhill in the last first-round game at Aughnamullen on Saturday.
Despite conceding goals to Pádraig Finnan and Brian McArdle, a Blackhill side inspired by Philip Donnelly and Michael Geehan were level at 0-10 to 2-4 at half-time and they were still on were on level terms after 45 minutes, only for Tyholland to eventually pull away. Quick-fire goals from Karl O’Connell and Dermot Coyle inside the final quarter sent Tyholland through to a Round 2A tie against Donaghmoyne, while Blackhill’s Round 2B opponents will be Killanny.
