East Cavan Gaels 7-5  Monaghan Harps 0-11

East Cavan Gaels secured the U15 Hurling League Shield  as a result of being more clinical in front of the goals. Played at Entekra Monaghan GAA Centre of Excellence the Cavan side scored 7 goals in total.  4 came in the first half, all coming from corner forward James Tully. Monaghan Harps in fact opened the scoring with the first two points of the game coming from Shane Griffin  and Aidan Mc Kenna. In fact Aidan was to score all of the Harps points for the remainder of the game  the majority of them coming from frees.    James Tully closed the scoring for  East Cavan Gaels with a goal on the edge of half time to leave them ahead 4-4 to 0-4.

East Cavan Gaels captain Conor Ruxton scored the first goal of the second half to extend  their lead to 15 points and try as they may the Harps could never close the gap despite the accurate free taking of Aidan Mc Kenna.  The scoring slowed down on both sides with Callum Shiel the only scorer for Cavan for the remainder of the half with two goals and a point to his credit while Aidan Mc Kenna hit some scores from play also to leave 16 in it at the end.
