Scotstown 6-9 Carrickmacross 1-3

Scotstown U13 Division 5 Team proved too strong for the south Monaghan town team in Tyholland on Tuesday 14th August last.  Carrick however were the first to score with Cillian Fox getting a goal within the opening minutes. Scoring was at a premium in the first half  and it wasn’t until the tenth minute that Scotstown opened their account  with a point from Bobby Boylan. Mid way through the half Scotstown’s Jack Mc Donald scored a brace of goals before Max Ward got a point back for Carrick. This left the score at half time Scotstown 2-3  Carrickmacross 1-1.

Jack Mc Donald opened the scoring in the second half with a point and this was the first  of 3-5 that Scotstown hit without reply  before Odhran Maher got a point back with a little over 5 minutes left in the game.  Ruben Sheridan then kicked the last of the 1-4 he scored  before Ben Mohan got Scotstown’s sixth goal. Carrick’s  Max Ward closed Carrick’s scoring with a pointed free.
