Final Weeks of Monaghan Kelloggs Cul Camps continue to be a success!!

The past two weeks have seen 6 camps being delivered in Monaghan, on Monday 23rd July 5 camps took place in Latton, Donaghmoyne, Magheracloone, Scotstown & Corduff. This week proved to be the biggest attendance of participants we have ever had on camps, with over 900 boys and girls aging from 5 to 13 years taking part. Obviously with such big numbers in attendance it’s puts huge pressure on staff & facilities, but again everyone stood up to the task and huge credit must go to all in ensuring the kids had an enjoyable week. The weather played its part and like the previous week our County Minor players done the rounds around the camps with both the Ulster Minor League & Championship cups.

See below county player / camp co-ordinator Rory Beggan attending our camps & county minor players & coaches at our camps Lochlainn Power & Micheal Meehan with the Ulster Minor Championship/League cups.

On the final week of Monaghan Cul Camps programme we travelled to Doohamlet GFC who hosted a Kelloggs cul camp for the first time. Its great to see new clubs coming on board and willing to host a camp, the club could not have been more helpful & supportive to ensuring the camp went well for the week. 87 boys and girls attended this camp and they all got the opportunity to play gaelic football & hurling throughout the week. While the weather took a turn for the worst on 1 / 2 days this did not dampen the spirit of the kids who had thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the camp for the week. See below a selection of photos from the camp also the award winners of the camp with county coaches & Doohamlet/Monaghan Senior Footballer Barry McGinn presenting the awards. Big thanks to barry for attending and presenting the awards..

That see’s the end of Monaghan Kelloggs Cul Camps for 2018, in what AGAIN proved to be another successful Cul Camp programme with 3,216 children taking part in the 19 camps held over 5 weeks, 64 coaches from 21 clubs working at the camps (a full summary report will follow in d next week or two). Huge thanks goes to clubs, coaches , camp co-ordinators, parents & participants for ensuring all involved had an enjoyable time on the camps.
