Round 3 of Liam Stirrat Development league kicks of this weekend

This weekend clubs from throughout the county will take part in round 3 of Liam Stirrat Development league. The skill focus for this week is the block, each club to designate a mentor to record their teams score. The HOST club to text Paul O’Connor the skill score from the game. Can all team mentors discuss the rules with the referees before the start of any games. Referees to text Paul O’Connor on the score of each game.

Saturday  9th June Week 1 – Overhead Catch

2.      Saturday  23rd June Week 2 – Kick Pass 15m (straight to chest & catch)

3.      Saturday 7th July Week 3 – Block

4.      Saturday  21st July Week 4 – Near Hand Tackle

5.      Saturday  4th Aug Week 5 – Evasive Skill  “The Roll”

6.      Saturday  18th Aug Week 6 – In Cloghan

 

NOMINATED COACH FROM EACH CLUB TO RECORD THE SKILL SCORE AT EACH GAME. SCORE SHEET & TEACHING POINTS FOR EACH SKILL WILL BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO START OF THIS LEAGUE.

A will award a point for a team that executes the following skills on each skill focus week; Skills to be focused on;

Week 1 – Overhead Catch

Week 2 – Kick Pass 15m (straight to chest & catch)

Week 3 – Block

Week 4 – Near Hand Tackle

Week 5 – Evasive Skill  “The Roll”

Week 6 – NO SKILL FOCUS

11 a side (9 a side in some divisions)

Pitch Size – 20m to 20m 55m wide (11a side) / 65m length & 40 width (9 a side)

3 Periods- 2 x 20m / 1 x 10m (Non- dominant side & middle period))

White sock to be worn to indicate weak side.

2 Touch

Whoever fouls takes the free

45’s from ground or hand (worth 2 points)

Goal Keeper kicks ball out from hand

Every week a scoring zone will be implemented 20m out. Score from outside this = 2 points.

All other scores (Goals/Points) worth 1 point

 

All Players to play a minimum of 2 periods

 

All teams MUST BE BALANCED

Smart Touch Football to used

 

NO TEAMSHEETS REQUIRED

 

DISCIPLINE ISSUES TO BE REPORTED TO COACHING STAFF BY REFEREE

 

Official Referee officiate each game.
