Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship Quarter-Final
Kildare v Monaghan, Saturday, 3.00, Mullingar
Ulster MFC winners Monaghan bid to qualify for the All-Ireland semi-finals when they take on Kildare at Cusack Park, Mullingar on Saturday afternoon.
Monaghan lost to Derry in extra-time in the first round, but wins over Antrim, Donegal, Down and Cavan earned them an appearance in the Ulster final, where they turned the tables on the Oak Leaf County. Kildare went six games unbeaten en route to the Leinster final. They topped Group 2 of the round-robin series via straightforward wins over Wexford, Carlow, Laois and Longford, before needing a replay to see off Wicklow at the semi-final stage. They played again last Saturday, when they lost out to Meath.
Monaghan will hope to have big performances from Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Aaron Mulligan, Andrew Moore, Seán Jones, Jordan McGarrell, Karl Gallagher, Lochlainn Power. Muiris Curtin, Alex Beirne, Jack Smith, Aaron Kennedy, Sam Morrissey, Tom Browne and Marcus Kiely could play key roles for Kildare.
