Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship Quarter-Final
Monaghan 2-11 Kildare 0-8 28/7/18
Monaghan booked their place in the All-Ireland MFC semi-finals with a well-earned win over Kildare in Mullingar on Saturday.
Monaghan settled well after a testing start and a goal on 20 minutes by Aaron Mulligan had them 1-5 to 0-5 up at half-time. Despite playing into the elements in the second half, Monaghan upped their game, with early points by Mulligan and Seán Jones and a second goal from Donnach Swinburne pushing them well clear. A determined defensive effort kept Kildare at bay and Monaghan eventually advanced with a bit to spare to a clash with Munster champions Kerry in the last four.
