Club Previews (July 6-12)

Carrickmacross will bid to make it 11 games unbeaten in the Shoe City Senior Football League when they host Castleblayney on Friday. Nearest challengers Scotstown have a local derby at home to Truagh, while the other fixtures are Clontibret v Monaghan Harps; Latton v Inniskeen; and Magheracloone v Ballybay.

 

Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League table-toppers Doohamlet will bid to return to winning ways after two defeats when they host Toome on Friday. Second-placed Killanny travel to Currin, while Aughnamullen, Donaghmoyne and Tyholland make the short trips to Blackhill, Corduff and Seán McDermotts, respectively.

 

Platinum Tanks Reserve Football Championship Crawley Cup Final

Corduff v Doohamlet, Sunday, 7.00, Blackhill

 

The RFC Crawley Cup Final sees Corduff and Doohamlet go head to head in Blackhill on Sunday evening.

Doohamlet, who have nine points from as many games in the RFL Division 2A, have qualified for this final with wins over Ballybay, Drumhowan and Éire Óg, while Division 2B’s second-placed team, Corduff, have knocked out Aghabog and Carrickmacross.

Doohamlet could call on the likes of Shane and Emmet McManus, Conor Marray, Oisín O’Neill and Hugh McGinn, with Corduff looking to Shane McNally, Christopher McEnaney, Leon McKeown, Cathal and Michael Connolly and Fionn O’Callaghan.

 

Rockcorry host Oram in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division Three on Friday, with Inniskeen away to Seán McDermotts on Wednesday, when there is also one Division 2B fixture between Éire Óg and Monaghan Harps.

 

The Minor Football Championship Division Two gets underway on Tuesday, with Doohamlet and St. Tiarnach Sarsfields hosting St. Mary’s Na Mullaí (Éire Óg/Rockcorry) and Clontibret, respectively, in the preliminary round and Seán McDermotts facing Cremartin in a quarter-final.

 

Tuesday brings the following U-21 Football Championship quarter-finals: Carrickmacross v Killanny and Inniskeen v Scotstown in Division One, as well as Aughnamullen v Donaghmoyne in Division Two.

 

Thursday’s Silver Hill Farm Senior Hurling Championship round three sees Clontibret and Inniskeen host St. Macartan’s (Truagh/Monaghan Harps) and Castleblayney, respectively.

 

The juvenile competitions also continue this week, with action scheduled at all age grades.
