All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Qualifiers Round 2
Waterford 0-9 Monaghan 5-21 23/6/18
Monaghan returned to winning ways in the SFC with a comprehensive win over Waterford in sunny Dungarvan on Saturday. With 15 players on the scoresheet, including goal-scorers Conor McManus, Karl O’Connell, Fintan Kelly, Dessie Mone and Shane Carey, a Monaghan team featuring five personnel changes put their Ulster semi-final loss to Fermanagh behind them to book a place in Monday morning’s Round 3 Qualifier draw. There were SFC debuts for Barry Kerr and substitute David Garland, who wasted little time in opening his championship account.
