Nearest challengers Scotstown are away to holders Ballybay, while the fixtures are Castleblayney v Magheracloone; Latton v Monaghan Harps; and Truagh v Clontibret.
Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League table-toppers Doohamlet will bid to return to winning ways when they travel to Corduff on Friday, while second meets third when Seán McDermotts go to Killanny. Elsewhere in a condensed league, it’s Aughnamullen v Currin; Donaghmoyne v Tyholland and a mid-Monaghan derby between Toome and Blackhill.
Ahead of the split into Cup and Shield in the Eurotech Junior Football League, there are must-win games for Drumhowan and Rockcorry against Oram and Killeevan, respectively, on Friday. There is also a clash of two of the top teams when Éire Óg host Aghabog, while Clones host Truagh and Cremartin face Scotstown. Rockcorry and Clones go head to head on Wednesday.
There are two Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division 2A fixtures on Sunday, with Carrickmacross and Seán McDermotts hosting Blackhill and Ballybay, respectively.
The Minor Football Leagues are set to resume after the exam break on Tuesday.
The Division One Cup semi-final fixtures are Magheracloone v Donaghmoyne and Aughnamullen v Castleblayney, while in the Shield section, it’s Carrickmacross v Scotstown and Monaghan Harps v Latton. The Division One Cup semis see Killanny and St. Mary’s Na Mullaí (Éire Óg/Rockcorry) host Doohamlet and Seán McDermotts, respectively, with the Shield featuring Clontibret v Emyvale and Tyholland v Cremartin.
Tuesday sees the U-21 Football Championship take centre stage, with the following preliminary-round fixtures: Carrickmacross v Latton; Donaghmoyne v Corduff; Éire Óg v Emyvale; Killanny v Clones; Scotstown v Aughnamullen; and Toome v Inniskeen.
Thursday’s Silver Hill Farm Senior Hurling Championship round two sees Carrickmacross bid to build on an opening win when they travel to holders Castleblayney. The other group game has St. Macartan’s (Truagh/Monaghan Harps) and Inniskeen both trying to get off the mark.
The Silver Hill Farm U-17 Hurling League sees Cootehill, Lisbellaw and Truagh host East Cavan Gaels, Carrickmacross and Castleblayney, respectively, on Monday .
The juvenile competitions also continue this week, with the U-15 championships getting underway and action also at U-13 and U-11 grades.
