UNIVERSAL GRAPHICS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Scotstown 1-15, Truagh 1-13 (After Extra Time).

It took extra time to separate these sides in this closely contested and always interesting if never spectacular contest, that was played in a mixture of sunshine and showers in Emyvale on Sunday afternoon last. Scotstown were the more dominant team in the 1st half with the best Truagh could do was being level twice in the early stages, with the blues going on to lead by 4 points at half-time and extending that to 7 points 11 minutes into the 2nd half. From there to the end of normal time though Truagh rallied strongly to bring the margin down to 3 with 11 minutes of normal time remaining and while Scotstown edged 4 in front with 10 minutes of normal time remaining, Truagh finished strongly with an unanswered 1-1, despite chances at both ends, to tie the game up at 1-11, each and send the issue into extra time. Scotstown led by 2 points at half-time in extra time with the sides registering just one point each in the 2nd period of extra time to leave 2 between them at the finish.
