U17s start Campaign with a win

Monaghan 0-12 Armagh 0-6

Monaghan u17s commenced their competitive season with a win over Armagh on Saturday last the 10th of March in Silverbridge.  They controlled the first half with both Aaron Mulligan and Seán Jones   getting 3 points each  with the others coming from Loughlin Power, Jason Irwin and Jordan Mc Garrell. With the 30 minutes almost up Armagh hadn’t registered a score with only 2 shots on goal but in a taste of what was to come  they scored two points within a minute from Louis Hughes and Aidan Davidson to leave the half time score Monaghan 0-9 Armagh 0-2.

In the opening quarter of the 2nd half   Armagh upped the tempo of their game and were playing a hard hitting game but it wasn’t until the 13th minute of the half when they opened the scoring with  a free from Ruairi Mc Donald  who pointed with another 2 minutes later. Sub Robbie Hanratty  opened Monaghan’s account in the 18th  followed by Aaron Mulligan’s 4th, this time from play. Armagh scored another 2 from frees this time from  the right boot of Eoin Woods  but  Inniskeen’s  Seán Jones had enough time in the 2nd minute of stoppage time to kick his 4th score to leave it at end Monaghan 0-12 Armagh 0-6. Cavan will provide the opposition next Friday night in Inniskeen
