Residual prizes: €100 Hugh Coyle (Dundalk) c/o Brian O’Sullivan (Hurling Club); €40 Eugene Greenan c/o Séamus Treanor; €40 Francie O’Neill c/o Séamus Treanor; €40 Maggie Duffy c/o Paddy Donnelly. Jackpot for Sunday, April 1 is €1,400 and Maria and Hugh McKenna are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which plays a critical role in our club’s funding. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible.

Seniors: We start the County Monaghan Credit Unions Senior Football League with a home game against Latton this Saturday at 5pm. A restructured league format means there are five points up for grabs for a win – and two points for a draw – in each of the first four games. Please support!

Reserves: We returned to winning ways in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division 1B at home to Cremartin last Saturday. Goals from Conor Duffy, Remy McKenna and Éimhín Morahan put us in a commanding position and although Cremartin closed the gap before half-time to four points (3-3 to 0-8), we stayed clear after the restart. Liam Hahessy added our fourth goal and with Éimhín leading the scoring, we ran out winners on a 4-11 to 0-13 scoreline. Well done to Richard Wilkie on his first adult game and Seán Peyton on his debut for the club, with both getting points in the second half.

Team: Darragh Hannon; Jamie Shields, Aidan Burns, David Lowry; Thomas Croarkin, John Mulligan, Niall McManus; Peter Coyle, Richard Wilkie; Remy McKenna, James McKenna, Conor Duffy; Colm Shalvey, Éimhín Morahan (Capt.), Francis Lynch.

Subs: Liam Hahessy for Duffy, Seán Peyton for Coyle, Jason McHugh for Shalvey, Niall McKenna for Burns, Nathan O’Donoghue for R McKenna.

Senior games are on the agenda in the next couple of weeks, before both of our reserve teams return to action on the weekend of April 13-15.

Minors: Our minor footballers (U-18) started their league campaign in Group B of Division One with a home game against Donaghmoyne on Tuesday (March 27). Check online for result. Next Tuesday’s game is away to Scotstown.

U-15: The U-15 Football League gets underway next Thursday, April 5. Before then, we compete in the Éamonn McElroy/Benny Connolly Tournament in Emyvale on Monday.

U-13: Our U-13 teams started their league campaigns last Saturday. There was no luck for our Division One side as they lost away to Carrickmacross, but our Division Five team got off to a good start with a win at home to Scotstown.

U-11: Our U-11s start the new skills-based Spring League with home games against Scotstown this Saturday (please check online for throw-in times). As part of the restructure of juvenile age-groups this year, the U-11 football will be played using a new skills development-based format. Good luck to all involved.

County: Well done to Neil McAdam, who made his 100th appearance for the Monaghan senior footballers as they finished the Allianz NFL with a great win over Dublin at Croke Park last Sunday. Well done also to Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Lochlainn Power and the county minor footballers for qualifying for the Ulster league semi-finals and to Fearghal McMahon, who ended London’s league campaign in good scoring form.

Membership: Registration fees for 2018 are now due and can be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse. Fees are €20 for players up to and including U-11; €30 for all other players and members and €60 for a family membership. Please note that all players must be paid-up members to be insured for 2018.

Dates to remember: Our Saturday-morning coaching for juveniles will kick off on April 14. The juvenile club’s annual Cake Sale is set for April 28. Darkness into Light will take place for a fifth time in Monaghan on May 12, with registration open online now. The Ladies Club’s Abbey Fanning Tournament is scheduled for June 9.
