Allianz National Football League Division One
Monaghan 1-16 Donegal 1-10 18/3/18
Monaghan secured their Allianz NFL Division One status for another year with a six-point win over Donegal in Clones on Sunday. Despite hitting nine wides in the first half, Monaghan changed ends ahead by 0-9 to 1-5 and Ryan Wylie made an instant impact off the bench with a goal just after the restart.
Monaghan had nine players on the scoresheet as they claimed a fourth win of the league at the expense of a Donegal side missing the influence of the likes of Paddy McBrearty, Ryan McHugh and Odhrán Mac Niallais.
Malachy O’Rourke’s side face unbeaten Dublin at Croke Park in the final round next Sunday.
