Monaghan GAA Coaching & Games ran a very successful Indoor League for Primary Schools in Monaghan. The programme was targeted at 5th and 6th class boys and girls. These leagues were delivered across three venues with both St Macartans College, Scotstown GAA Complex and the Phoenix Centre, Carrickmacross. We are very fortunate to have such excellent facilities available to us.
The leagues ran on the 24th January, 31st January and the 7th February, from 10am to 2pm.
We had 22 schools taking part in this programme, including Scoil Mhuire Rockcorry, Oram NS, Annyalla NS, Castleblayney BNS, Garron NS, Tydavnet NS, Knockatallon NS, Latnamard NS, Scoil Mhuire Latton, Corracrin NS, Corcaghan NS, Monaghan BNS, Gaelscoil Rois, Ballynagearn NS, Drumgossett NS, Scoil Eanna Ballybay, Carrickmacross BNS, Blackstaff NS, Loughmourne NS, Doohamlet NS, Threemilehouse NS and Edenmore NS.
A massive thanks to all the schools who took part and made the initiative a huge success. Also a huge thanks to teachers, assistants and club mentors who helped the leagues run smoothly.
The talent on show over the three weeks was top class, with the leagues proving to be a great showcase of skills. Every school played plenty of games over the three weeks and enjoyed it immensely.
Please keep an eye out on further information as Monaghan GAA Coaching & Games will be organising more initiatives for Primary Schools such as Fun Fives for younger classes, Skills competitions and Go Games Blitzes.
