SFC Draw: We have been drawn to play Truagh in the preliminary round of the 2018 Senior Football Championship.

 

Juvenile presentation: As part of our recent juvenile presentation night, we gave out individual awards at each age group as follows. U-14: Player of the Year: James Curley; Most Improved: Kevin Moran; Best Trainer: Liam Conway; U-13: Player of the Year: Gary Devlin; Most Improved: Jordan Crampton; Best Trainer: Michael McMorrow; U-12 Coyle Cup: Player of the Year: Eoin O’Hanlon; Young Player of the Year: Jack Lynch; Most Improved: Shay Kelly; Best Trainer: Mark Clerkin; U-12 Division Five: Player of the Year: Morgan Coyle; Young Player of the Year: James Gunn; Most Improved: Dara Mullen; Best Trainer: Jack Garvey; and Best Skills: Kyle Cooney. Mel McMorrow had earlier presented the U-16 awards to Player of the Year: Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh; Most Improved: Jamie McCarron & Cathal Nally; Best Trainer: Conor Devlin and Performance of the Year: Stephen Ward. Club Draw: The GAA’s National Club Draw is back for 2018, offering great prizes including a Renault Dynamique. Books of tickets are available now from Club Treasurer Dermot Coyle (086 0734098) and should be returned as soon as possible. All support is greatly appreciated for our fundraisers.

 

Charity match: All funds raised from our annual New Year’s Day charity match will go to a local charity/charities to be named soon.

 

County: Well done to Neil McAdam and the Monaghan senior footballers on their Allianz NFL win away to Kildare last weekend and good luck against Kerry in Inniskeen this Sunday. Well done also to Fearghal McMahon, who scored three points in a winning National League debut for London against Wicklow.

 

Dates to remember: Monaghan Arch Club will return to Gavan Duffy Park for their annual visit next Thursday, February 15. Our Saturday-morning coaching for juveniles will kick off in late March and our juveniles will again be taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day parade.

 

Scór: Scór Sinsir takes place on February 25. Anybody wishing to participate in or help out with Instrumental Music, Ballad Group, Solo Singing, Recitation, Dancing or Stage Presentation is asked to contact our Cultural Officer Joe Ó Gallchóir at 086 3048242.

 

Membership: Registration fees for 2018 can now be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse.

 

Coaching: We intend to run a Child Protection course and a Foundation Coaching course in the coming months. Keep an eye on club notes for details. See monaghangaa.ie for more details of upcoming coach education courses in Cloghan.

 

Refereeing Course: Monaghan GAA are hoping to run a referee training course this month. If you are interested in becoming a referee, please contact Club Secretary Val Forde (secretary.monaghanharps.monaghan@gaa.ie).

Gavan Duffy Park: The refurbished Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Contact Jimmy Croarkin on 087 1249635 or Pádraig Callan on 087 2543511 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience. Please note that our pitches are now closed until further notice.
