‘Monaghan GAA ‘Club All-Stars Awards’

We have a strong tradition of providing a competitive and passionate competition across all our football & hurling grades. During 2017 Monaghan GAA initiated the highly anticipated ‘Club All-Star Awards’ to highlight the achievement and acknowledge the heroics off club players.

In a year in which we witnessed some truly spectacular championship matches full of vigour, heaps of excitement and loaded with many magical moment it is only fitting that the County value and appreciate the player. The ‘Club All Star Awards’ are directed towards players who displayed notable performances for their club during the 2017 championship campaigns.  The award signifies achievement in a couple of ways. Firstly, it acknowledges the players contribution towards the overall team efforts and secondly it recognises their exceptional performances over the course of the season.

Speaking ahead of the Awards night, Cathaoirleach of Coiste Chontae Mhuineacháin Michéal Mac Mathúna commented: “we have and will continue to mark the immense contribution that all our players make and these All-Stars Awards is a celebration, a small token of our respect for their hard work, their commitment and the countless scarifies they made on a weekly basis to turn-up and perform for their respective clubs.”

He continued “The All-Star Awards is a great honour to bestowed on any player and is a wonderful achievement and I think a lovely accolade to receive. Having your efforts recognised and celebrated is a major accomplishment and we want to acknowledge the players who have excelled and demonstrated outstanding efforts and commitment on the field of play.”

The awards night takes place on Friday 2nd March in the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney and the Cathaoirleach concluded by stating “The awards night will become a special date in the Monaghan GAA calendar and it’s going to be an occasion where Gaels right across the county will come together to show their appreciation and applaud these players… for without them and the many others like them there would be no sport….it’s going to be another memorable night and all are welcome to attend to honour and appreciate the efforts of the players.
