Charity match: We kicked off 2018 in style with our annual charity match, which once again brought a good crowd to Gavan Duffy Park on New Year’s Day. As ever, an enjoyable game, refereed by young Conor Devlin, featured members from all sections of the club and all ages. We then gathered in the clubhouse, where we had an evening of fun which included a well-supported raffle. Mary White thanked everyone involved and sent best wishes to fellow organiser Owen Connell and Mark McCabe, among others who were unable to be with us on the day, before presenting a birthday cake to our own Anne Smyth.
Thanks to the following sponsors of the raffle prizes: Eastern Balti; Costcutter; Pearse McNally, Dunsinaire Stores Esso Station; McCleary’s, Londis; Sloane’s Spar; Starlighting Interiors; Mr J’s Barber Shop; Dunnes Stores; Monaghan Bottlers; John Hahessy; Adrian and Nora Gunn; the Finnegan family; Harry McAree. Thanks to all sponsors, everyone who took part in or attended the match and the organising committee. All funds raised will go to a local charity/charities to be named soon and any sponsorship forms still to be returned can be left into the clubhouse or to the organisers.
New Year: We would like to wish all our players, members, supporters and sponsors a very Happy New Year! Athbhliain faoi Mhaise Daoibh! Best wishes to everyone for 2018.
Congratulations: To Stephen Driver and Ciara McPhillips, who got married last week. Congratulations also to Conor and Bernie Devlin on the birth of their daughter, Fiadh, on New Year’s Day.
