AGM: The senior club’s Annual General Meeting took place in our clubhouse last Thursday evening. Séamus McManus and Nicola Shalvey welcomed everyone, before presenting the Chairman’s Address and Secretary’s Report, both giving a comprehensive overview of another busy year, while Jimmy Croarkin presented the finance report and praised everyone involved in raising money for the club. Sub-committee reports were delivered by Noel Hennessy (Lotto); Gerard Clerkin (Culture); Martin Sheridan (Health & Wellbeing); and Martin McEntee (Handball). As no Chairperson was elected on the night, the formation of an Executive Committee was deferred to a Special General Meeting, which will be held in the clubhouse this Sunday (December 3) at 3pm. We encourage all club members and anyone who wants to get involved to attend.
SFL Final: We hosted the County Monaghan Credit Unions Senior Football League Final between Ballybay and Scotstown at Gavan Duffy Park last Sunday. With a large crowd attending, the many club members in attendance were kept busy in a variety of roles. A great collective effort ensured that the day ran smoothly, with the pitch in fine condition despite the weather of recent weeks. Thanks to everyone involved.
Sympathy: At last Thursday’s meeting, votes of sympathy were passed to the families of Philomena McKenna, Liam Stirrat, Raymond McCooey and Maura Lynch. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.
Coaching: There are several upcoming coaching courses/workshops in Cloghan, including one this Saturday. Check the Monaghan GAA website and contact Pádraig Callan if you wish to attend any.
Scór: Well done to everyone involved in the Scór na nÓg (Under-17) County Final in Threemilehouse last Saturday.
