County Monaghan Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League Final
Ballybay v Scotstown, Sunday, 2.00, Monaghan
The domestic club season finishes with this Sunday’s County Monaghan Group of Credit Unions SFL Final at Gavan Duffy Park, with holders Ballybay up against county champions Scotstown in a repeat of their dramatic SFC semi-final.
Scotstown came from eight points down to draw that game and went on to win the replay before clinching a third consecutive SFC title. They qualified for another final with a hard-earned win over Clontibret last Sunday, while Ballybay maintained their defence of the league via a strong second-half performance in their local derby away to Latton.
Ballybay will be looking for big performances from the likes of Paul Finlay, Drew and Ryan Wylie, Colm Lennon and Shane and Christopher McGuinness, while Scotstown will hope to have Darren and Kieran Hughes, Conor McCarthy, Shane Carey, Dónal Morgan and Rory Beggan to lead their bid to become the third Monaghan first team to complete a league and championship double this year. Both sides have injury worries ahead of the weekend, but another exciting contest between these teams should be in prospect.
