Residual prizes: €100 Louise Fahy c/o Joe Finlay (Hurling Club); €40 Sophie Hughes c/o Dermot Coyle; €40 Dermot Coyle c/o himself; €40 Aidan Donnelly c/o Paddy Donnelly. Jackpot for Sunday, November 12 is €2,900 and Liz and Dermot Brannigan are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which plays a critical role in our club’s funding. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible.

AGMs: The club’s Annual General Meeting has been set for Thursday, November 23, with the juvenile AGM on next Thursday (November 16).

Seniors: We finished the County Monaghan Credit Unions Senior Football League when a much-changed team lost at home to Magheracloone last Sunday. Clontibret’s win over Ballybay had ended our hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals and we were without several players for a variety of reasons for this game, but the first half was fairly evenly matched for the most part. Shane Smyth landed three points and Michael Galligan converted a brace of frees, but we conceded a couple of slack goals to trail by 2-5 to 0-5 at half-time. We failed to take a succession of chances to score in the second half, while a determined Magheracloone team pulled away to secure the win they were targeting to ensure that they moved clear of the relegation zone.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Thomas Croarkin, Nicholas Scott, Mustafa Gamal; Conor Duffy, Kevin Loughran, Michael Galligan (0-2f); Aodhán Óg McAnespie, Stephen Driver (Capt.); Dylan McKenna, Éimhín Morahan, Conor Devlin; Niall Hahessy, Shane Smyth (0-3), Ashley White.

Thanks to the players, the management team of Laurence Strain, Barry McGinn, Paul Rushe and everyone who contributed to our senior footballers in 2017.

Good luck: To Gaelscoil Ultain in Saturday’s rescheduled Cumann na mBunscol county final.

Fun Day: Please make sure that any outstanding balloon race cards are returned to Jimmy Croarkin or Úna Forde ASAP and that juveniles’ full cards include sizes for the new Harps training tops.

Scór: The Acorn Life-sponsored Scór na nÓg (Under-17) County Final will be held in Threemilehouse on Saturday, November 25, with competitions in Rince Foirne, Rince Seit, Solo Singing, Ballad Singing, Recitation, Group.

Tráth na gCeist: Muineachán le Gaeilge host a Tráth na gCeist in our clubhouse this Friday, November 10. This will be a bilingual quiz, with the questions asked as Gaeilge agus as Béarla.

Kit for Your Club: We are asking for support with the McCaughey Fuels “Kit for Your Club” loyalty rewards scheme. Our supporters can get a rewards token with every home heating oil delivery and give the token to a committee member or leave it into the clubhouse. Collecting enough tokens will qualify us for training equipment.

Gavan Duffy Park: The refurbished Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Contact Jimmy Croarkin on 087 1249635 or Pádraig Callan on 087 2543511 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.
